You bring up a lot of good points. I recently wrote my first piece on mental health, and on top of the feelings I explain in it of guilt and shame for what happened to me, it took a lot of courage for me to actually post it. It felt like “what are readers going to think of me?” as if anyone knew me. And even if they did, that’s not the measure of my worth. But it is unfortunately a big cultural and societal stigma. Sadly, what folks against therapy and mental health neglect to see if that those of us seeking help tend to be in a path of growth, or at the very least, want to do something about how we feel. I think writing and speaking about the topic is a great start and a good way for each one of us to do our part. Thank you for sharing!
